Why eat Grapefruit?
One medium grapefruit is equal to about one cup of fruit. A ½ cup of sliced grapefruit is an excellent source of Vitamin C.  A ½ cup of sliced grapefruit has good nutritional value and low calories.

Why is Vitamin C beneficial?
Vitamin C is a good source of anti-oxidant, it helps keep gums and muscles in good shape, helps heal wounds and cuts and helps lower the risk of infection, minimizes wrinkles, good for eyesight, boosts brain power, protects heart and can help prevent heart disease.

 Males  2½ - 5 cups per day  4½ - 6½ cups per day

  •  Look for grapefruit that has smooth skin and feels heavy for its size.
  • Grapefruit can be stores at room temperature or up to one week.
  • If stored in the refrigerator, grapefruit will last up to two weeks.
  • For best flavor, enjoy grapefruit at room temperature

Find ways to incorporate grapefruit into your meals.

  •  Try plain grapefruit for breakfast.
  •  Combine grapefruit sections, sliced banana, and raisins with lowfat yogurt.
  •  Blend grapefruit chunks with equal parts oil and vinegar to make a zesty salad dressing.
  • Try 100% grapefruit juice- it tastes great chilled or frozen like a popsicle.
  • Toss peeled grapefruit segments into fruit or green salads.
  • Blend grapefruit segments with lowfat yogurt and frozen strawberries for a smoothie.
