Why eat Apples?
One small apple is equal to about one cup of fruit. One cup of apples is a source of fiber, which helps you feel full, keep normal blood sugar levels, and avoid constipation. One small apple is also a source of vitamin C.

Why is Vitamin C beneficial?
Vitamin C is a good source of anti-oxidant, it helps keep gums and muscles in good shape, helps heal wounds, minimizes wrinkles, good for eyesight, boosts brain power, protects heart and can help prevent heart disease.

Vitamin C Champions:
Grapes, green beans, melons, peppers, potatoes, swiss chard, and zucchini. Vitamin C Champions are a good or excellent source of vitamin C.

Look for apples that are firm and do not have soft spots. Apples can be stored at room temperature, but they can last up to six weeks if refrigerated
Do not refrigerate apples in closed bags

Lets Get Physical!
It is important to eat healthy AND get daily physical activity. Make physical activity fun and social! Grab a friend and walk around the mall, to the park, or during your lunch break. In the evening, make time to participate in physical activity as a family by going for a walk, riding bikes, or having a dance contest.

Find ways to incorporate apples into your meals. Mix apple chunks in your morning oatmeal.
